Portrait of Milagros Hurtig
Born Argentina, 1990 · Based in Berlin

I am a researcher, artist, and participatory designer working at the intersections of urban planning, arts, and social and institutional innovation. I combine design methods, performative approaches, and context-specific creative tools to facilitate dialogue, listening, and understanding among diverse actors. My projects aim to build bridges across disciplines, promote relational quality, and activate sensitive forms of encounter in public space.

I have worked as a project manager for placemaking strategies, community art, and urban design projects. In Buenos Aires, I was part of the Urbanismo Vivo collective and co-founded urban.femina. I have collaborated with teams and communities in Mexico, Argentina, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Austria, Germany, Kosovo, and beyond.

I hold a degree in architecture and a master’s in urban studies from the University of Vienna, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the University of Copenhagen, and the Complutense University of Madrid. I am a PhD candidate at the NTNU Department of Design, researching on creative participatory tools and inclusive placemaking.
